Treaty Oak Distillery is named after the famous 500-year old tree in Austin, under which Stephen F. Austin signed agreements defining the borders of Texas.Their ginsare called Waterloo, after the original name of Austin. They moved to Dripping Springs, a place with a rich history of gatherings and shared perspectives. Waterloo No.9 Gin is a Texas contemporary style gin infused with expressive, beautifully balanced local botanicals. Being bottled at 94 proof maximizes the botanicals that are vapor infused during the distillation process. While paying homage to traditional dry gins with ingredients like juniper, coriander and anise, Waterloo No.9 builds in Hill Country flavor with pecans, lavender and grapefruit zest all harvested in Texas. The result is a blend of science and art, a confluence of gin culture and terroirthe crisp, clear representation of Treaty Oak's constant purposeful experimentation and pursuit of the curious.

How our products are consumed is as important to us as how they are made. So, we recruited a team of revered cocktail professionals led by Gary (gaz) Regan, including Leo Robitschek and Jeffery Morganthaler, early on and paired them with our British Master Distiller to help us develop our gin. The result is one lively mix of British Sensibility and American Mischief©.

Specifically designed to enhance the flavors of gin cocktails, our inaugural Tod & Vixen’s Dry Gin 1651 is made by macerating botanicals — including juniper, angelica root and rooibos tea — to extract their flavors, then non-chill filtering to retain the unearthed profile. The resulting sip is bold on the entry, giving way to a well-balanced, vibrant gin with a weighty mouthfeel.

As the esteemed gaz Regan put it: “THIS GIN ROCKS.”

WHY 1651?

The short answer is a man by the name of Jellis Douwse Fonda, Eral’s great, great (truly great) Dutch grandfather.

Jellis arrived in New Amsterdam (now New York City) in 1651 and proceeded up the Hudson Valley. On October 19, 1651, the court in Rensselaerwyck (not far from present-day Albany) gave Jellis license to distill liquor, making him the first person in our family to own a distillery. We hope we’re making him proud, though you have to wonder what he would have thought of the Brit we have as our Master Distiller.

Elephant Gin produces award-winning handcrafted premium gin, made with rare African botanicals. Their story began in South Africa, but Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany. Every ingredient is hand-selected, each bottle custom-made, with hand-written labels. Production is limited to small batches. This custom made artisan gem is inspired by the charitable organization Africa for Africa, from the hearts and minds of a handful of German enthusiasts who donate 15 percent of all their profits to help save the endangered African elephants. Elephant Gin is crafted from 14 handpicked botanicals, sourced from across the world. From African Baobab and Devil's Claw to French lavender and Salzburger mountain pine needles. The botanicals are what gives this gin its truly distinctive notes. Limited to small batches and distilled using a traditional copper still, the resulting spirit is cut with local spring water, fresh apples and other carefully selected elements that comprise all this wonderfully unique spirit of Africa. 

Elephant Gin produces award-winning handcrafted premium gin, made with rare African botanicals. Their story began in South Africa, but Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany. This Elephant Strength gin is a take on the "navy strength" the Royal English Navy used. They would put their Navy Strength gin to the test by lighting it with gunpowder. If the gin had at least 114 proof, it survived the test and was deemed "navy strength." Elephant Strength is stronger and richer than the original award-winning Elephant London Dry Gin. Its high strength comes with twice the amount of botanicals featuring the extraordinary African buchu, sweet citrus peel and herbaceous mountain pine. The design of the bottle takes inspiration from naval origins featuring navy blue accents, an inviting map of the ocean, and a rope-like string with a charming miniature anchor. The Elephant Strength labels carry the names of the Magnificent Seven: the strongest and most impressive elephants known to Kruger National Park, South Africa, these precious bull elephants all bore tusks weighing more than 50kg each. Intense and full-bodied with fresh aromas, this gin is superb in cocktails.

Det Norske Brenneri, or "The Norwegian Distillery" as it is known in English, is situated in the town of Grimstad in the southern part of Norway. This is the first private distillery in Norway since the government dissolved the state monopoly on Spirits-making in 2005. Since then they have been producing various types of spirit including apple brandies, aquavits, gins and whiskies. They utilize traditional techniques and handraft their spirit in small batches. They produce up to 300 liters at a time. This Norweigian distillery only uses local Norwegian berries and herbs, which have a very distinctive flavor profile due to the dynamic climate. Harahorn Gin gets its name from a mountain in Hemsedal, one of the most pristine mountainous areas. The label features the mystical lepus cornutus, a giant rabbit with deer antlers. Distilled from Norwegian potato liquor, the base of this gin is comprised of Rros juniper, Nordmarka blueberries, anise, Oppdal angelica, Grimstad rhubarb, seaweed, wild Sunndal marjoram, and 16 other Norse herbs. Harahorn Gin earned the 2019 USA Spirits Ratings award for the Gin of the Year.

After Ben Iravani and Josh Rennielauched their trendy bar in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2009 they decided to experiment with an ideal recipeof botanicals infusions andunique methodsto extract the herbs and spices using a cold vacuum distillation. Together with university professor Andrew Porter they created a special vacuum still, subsequently naming their gin after him. The distillate used for Porter's Gin is sourced from G&L Distillers near Manchester. This spirit is infused with juniper, coriander seed, angelica, licorice, citrus zest, almond, and cinnamon. These custom vacuum stillsprocess pink peppercorn, cassia, and Buddha's hand a rare Asian citrus fruit with spindly fingers-like lobes. You can expect bright notes of citrus and baking spice with ample pink peppercorns, followed by crisp clean finish with a subtle lingering nuttiness.

The signature juniper base is enhanced by tropical notes of passion fruit, guava and white tea, which are cold distilled to maintain freshness.

AMASS Dry Gin is a celebration of both the abundant natural terroir and diverse cultural landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Crafted in Downtown L.A. by Master Distiller Morgan McLachlan, our Dry Gin is a citrus-forward, herbaceous spirit balanced with earthy umami notes from Reishi mushroom and lion’s mane mushroom. Of the 29 organic botanicals inside the bottle, 11 come from California, with several growing in Morgan’s own backyard.

The corn base spirit is distilled with indigenous botanicals like California bay and cascara sagrada to ground vibrant flavors such as hibiscus, cardamom, cacao, and ginger, painting a vivid palate of the rich multicultural fabric that is the sprit of the City of Angels.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Vibrant and fresh, with a citrus-forward welcome.

PALATE : Citrus to the fore, supported by spicy notes of cardamom. California Bay Leaf provides an herbaceous quality on the middle of the palate. Gin opens with less heat on the front palate, but warms up to provide the necessary heat on the mid- and rear palate.

FINISH: Mushrooms and Long Pepper settle on the rear palate for a peppery finish with earthy undertones.

A passion for discovery runs through all eight generations of the Whitley Neill family tree. So it’s perhaps fitting that while honeymooning in the beautiful Sicilian countryside, Frederick Neill and his new wife fell in love all over again, this time with the vibrant, zesty flavour of Sicilian blood oranges. Using his finely-honed distilling techniques, Freddy strove to create a gin recipe that would evoke the memories of his Sicilian honeymoon. And it’s this recipe that led to the creation of Whitley Neill Blood Orange Gin.

Founded in 2008 in Golden, Colorado, Golden Moon Distillery, led by Stephen Gould and Karen Knight, creates handcrafted spirits and liqueurs using premium ingredients and traditional methods. They maintain a library of rare distilling books and operate four antique stills to put this knowledge into action. The distillery is eco-conscious, sourcing locally and minimizing waste. It received the Distillery of the Year award in 2019 from the American Distilling Institute and also operates a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge. Their flagship Golden Moon Gin, crafted by Stephen Gould, features locally-sourced botanicals for a unique floral aroma, perfect for sipping or mixing.

When the gin's namesake Ginny settled down in the Napa Valley with her husband, they worked as winemakers in their thriving winery. After several years they felt a new challenge was due. When a couple of their friends invited them to help them with a wine-country gin, they gladly agreed, the spirit having been Ginny's passion for several years. They went about it in a special way, insisting on a hands-on approach and using their expertise as winemakers. The humble beginnings had Ginny driving around the wine country with a trunk full of boxes of gin, selling each bottle by hand, soon becoming known locally as "Ginny with the gin". The business took off and the rest, as they say, is history. What's special about Ginny's Gin is how their winemaking background is reflected in the spirit. It's distilled in small batches from grains as well as grapes. The juniper and coriander are macerated in the grape spirit for one day, while the rest of the botanicals are added during distillation using a vapor infusion: lemongrass, lemon zest, sage, orris root, grains of paradise, angelica root, cubeb berries, and licorice root have all found their way into the recipe. Their wine-tasting expertise comes in handy when tasting the blend and ensuring the complexity, balance, and consistency is always up to par. The extra-smooth gin is bottled at 90 proof and fittingly sold in wine bottles.

HH Bespoke Spirits Collection is a spinoff of the bespoke boutique Harlem Haberdashery. The family behind the award-winning brand has been making custom clothing for celebrities under the name 5001 Flavors, providing styling for the likes of Notorious B.I.G., Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and David Beckham's "Welcome to the US" Adidas campaign. Their retail boutique in Harlem opened in 2012 in the former home of Malcolm X and the brand is known to take its inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance. They launched their brand of premium spirits in 2018. Made in partnership with AstraLuna brands, who distill and manufacture high quality small-batch spirits, the lineup consists of HH Bespoke Vodka, HH Bespoke Rum, and HH Bespoke Gin. "We are excited to present the HH Bespoke Collection to celebrate life fashionably with our curated spirits and be apart of celebratory and responsible lifestyle experiences for our consumers," said President and CEO Sharene Wood at the launch of the new brand. The Harlem Haberdashery Bespoke Gin is a riff on the London dry style, a juniper-forward profile with the addition of American botanicals. It features an infusion of lavender, rosehip, beach plum, and cranberry. Bottled at 80 proof, it's crafted to mix well with sweet as well as bitter flavors.

It was his wife that became enamored with the local Dalmatian liqueur, the Rosolio Maraschino. In 1821 Girolamo opened a distillery and soon after received a certificate from the emperor of Austria that acknowledged its exceptional quality. Their liqueurs became known far and wide along with their growing and impressive range which included the Original Maraschino Cherries, Limoncello, and a cherry liqueur. By 1913 the company had grown considerably, opening a new state-of-the-art distillery. The operation along with the Luxardo bloodline barely made it through the Second World War, but a new distillery with its very own cherry orchards thrives today in Torreglia, the Veneto region of Northeast Italy. It employs traditional copper-pot stills while constantly upgrading and investing to stay at the forefront of the industry. The company remains family-owned and is ran by the fifth, sixth, and seventh generations of the Luxardo family. Their flagship Maraschino liqueur and a range of award-winning products are a cocktail staple, along with cherries, syrups, wines, brandies, and many others. The Premium Italian Sour Cherry Gin is a London dry style gin with an infusion of the fruit that is at the core of Luxardo the marasca cherries. The fruitiness of the tart cherry juice goes incredibly well with the juniper-forward gin, and a dash of spice rounds it all up. A total of 9 botanicals are used in the recipe, including iris, licorice, cinnamon, cinchona, and bitter orange. These are left in an alcoholic infusion for one day, before being distilled and infused with the cherry juice and sweetened lightly.

Luxardo London Dry Gin is based on Luxardo's early 1900s recipe and contains 9 botanicals, including juniper, coriander, iris, angelica, licorice, cinchona, cinnamon, cardamom, and bitter oranges. The ingredients spend 24 hours in an alcoholic infusion before being distilled. The refinement then takes 19 days, after which the gin is filtered and brought down to 86 proof. The classic juniper-forward profile works great in cocktails and makes for a deliciously refreshing gin & tonic.

A CLASSIC LONDON DRY GIN BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT.
Whitley Neill Gin is slightly softer and much smoother than traditional gins, with rich notes of juniper and citrus, pot-pourri and exotic spices. The finish is a long one, with a subtle fade of herbs, cocoa and candied lemon peels, while the nose is both citrus-sweet and peppery, with a distinctive floral aroma.

Post-war, the Whitley Family, were living in rural England near Daresbury and they cultivated their garden with thrilling flavours, serving as inspiration for both the table and indeed their experimentation with new gins.

No spirits was formed in 2015 by Anand Virmani and Vaibhav Singh, when the two friends from Delhi, India felt like the gin renaissance wasn't hitting the country with the same force as it did the rest of the world. The two bar owners felt that the country where gin & tonic was invented needed to step up and they decided to take matters into their own hands. They procured a copper pot still, named it Agotha, and started experimenting with various spices, herbs, and fruits. Many of the classic gin botanicals are commonly found in India's home kitchens, making at least one step of the process a bit easier as the pair meticulously distilled, tasted, and tested their way towards crafting the perfect gin. Starting with a wheat-based neutral spirit, they crafted their very first gin. A classic London dry style, this gin is made with Macedonian juniper berries, Spanish orange peels, Italian orris, and German angelica. The rest of the botanicals all come from India and include fennel seeds, lemongrass, coriander, ginger, and chamomile. What's better than gin Two gins, of course. The Hapusa is the Sanskrit word for juniper. It's also "the world's first Himalayan dry gin". It's crafted with Himalayan junipers and several unique botanicals that are native to India: Turmeric, mango, ginger, cardamom, coriander seeds, gondhoraj lime, and almonds. While Greater Than is an international spirit, Hapusa is 100% Indian.

It took over 70 years after the prohibition had ended for the distilling industry to return to New York City. New York had a flourishing distilling industry by the early 19th century, however things changed during the Civil War, when President Lincoln taxed spirits to fund the military. This resulted in many distilleries going underground before the end of the century. The fatal blow for the legal distilling industry in US came in 1920, when the Eighteenth Amendment came into effect making the production of alcohol illegal. It was only in the 21st century that small distilleries started resurging in New York. The New York Distilling Company, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is one of the oldest distilleries in the city, and was founded in 2011 by Tom Potter, a co-founder of the Brooklyn Brewery, and Allen Katz, one of the nation's leading experts on distilled spirits and cocktails. The distillery specializes in gins and rye whiskeys and has been one of the pioneers of the city's distilling renaissance that builds upon the pre-prohibition heritage. Gin distilling in New York began in the 17th century, when Dutch settlers of New Amsterdam (as New York was then called) started making a version of the Dutch spirit genever. However, it wasn't until the early 19th century when the first commercial gin was produced in the US. Gin was a popular drink during the prohibition, as it was simple to make. American gin is a bit different from London and other European gins as a result of using other botanicals. Dorothy Parker Rose Petal Flavored Gin is a variation of New York Distilling Company's American gin, named after the famous New York writer Dorothy Parker. This fun and fanciful expression is made with an infusion of red and pink rose petals and crushed elderberries. Other botanicals used include juniper berries, coriander, green cardamom pods, cinnamon bark, lemon peel, and orange peel.
