Detailed Description

Brown rum distilled from fermented molasses. Minimum of 6 to 10 years in used whisky and bourbon barrels. The older of the two rums from Barrilito, the extra time spent aging is evident in this heavier rum with a slightly smoky flavor that doesn't overpower the rum flavor. Bottled at 43% alcohol by volume.

Nose: The nosing finds mature smells of molasses, honey, milk chocolate and nougat.

Palate: The palate entry is a touch smoky and very sweet; the honey and molasses tastes come to the fore at the midpalate.

Finish: Finish is warm, comfortable and mature.

Founded in the 1797 Hacienda Santa Ana, home of the renowned Ron del Barrilito Two and Three Stars, Edmundo B. Fernandez, Inc. announced the worldwide launch in the coming weeks of Ron del Barrilito Five Stars. This is the first collectible edition of rum presented by Ron del Barrilito in more than 138 years, establishing a new era of the supreme quality of Puerto Rican rums.

BOUNTY Premium Dark is lush and chewy from the extra body of the pot still rum which delivers a pleasing punchy character. Though it is slightly higher proof (86) than the rest of the range, BOUNTY Premium Dark maintains a signature silky mouthfeel and a long smooth finish with radiant splendor.

A unique blend of column and pot distilled rum aged two to three years in ex-Bourbon casks.

TASTING NOTES

Chocolate, hazelnut, and toffee are accentuated by hints of cinnamon and tobacco. The long enjoyable finish features a delightful display of caramelized sugar and brown butter.

Kōloa Gold Rum is made from pure cane sugar, distilled in an impressive vintage 1,210 gallon, steam-powered copper pot still and cut with filtered water from the ancient Mount Waiʻaleʻale.

The rum is distilled 2 times at 160 – 180 ABV.

Appearance
A vibrant, golden hued rum with a wonderful and surprisingly deep viscosity on the glass. Shimmering, light golden legs run slowly and deliberately down the inside of the glass.

Nose
Initially starts off a rich caramel with wafts of butter toffee, light hints of amaretto and freshly roasted macadamia nuts.

Taste and Finish
This soft, candy-like gold rum presents itself boldly with no pretenses other than being a good-tasting gold rum. The mouth feel is viscous with an upfront caramel blast that finishes with vanilla, light macadamia nut brittle and toasted almond.

The coffee infused Ron Colón Salvadoreño is made with single estate beans grown on the side El Salvador’s famous Santa Ana volcano. Each step from growing, processing and roasting is done by Tomas and Andres Trigueros of Jags Head Coffee. The beans are dried using the natural process; consistently turned by hand to ensure they dry equally over a period of four weeks. This slow process allows for the bean to interact with the natural sugars from the cherry (the fruit around the bean) over a long period of time, giving the final bean a more fruit-forward flavor. Our goal was to bring together the best Salvadoran Coffee and Rum.

PROCESS

Ron Colón Salvadoreño Dark Aged Rum is cold macerated with whole coffee beans for 48 hours. To make the 81 proof we work with more coffee beans in our recipe to create a richer flavor.

TASTING NOTES

The coffee infusion brings notes of delicate toasted coffee beans and milk chocolate. The natural process of the beans showcases the fruit forward flavors in the beans and balances with the sticky pineapple and fresh banana notes.

The Origins of Luxury Rums

A Young Italian Embarks on an Adventure

This story began 1875 when Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa, a young adventurer from Genoa, Italy, risked everything by leaving behind his family and the comforts of the old continent to travel to the exotic country of Nicaragua.

A Steamboat Route to Unite the Oceans

Initially, he invested in a shorter and safer steam boat route through Nicaragua to transport passengers and goods from the East Coast of the US to the West Coast during the height of the California Gold Rush. The route was a huge success, but when news broke about the construction of the Panama Canal and the U.S. coast-to-coast railroad, Alfredo Francisco knew it was time to set out on a new adventure.

The Flor de Caña Story begins in 1890

In 1890, he found the perfect setting for the Flor de Caña distillery at the base of the San Cristóbal volcano, the tallest and most active volcano in Nicaragua. The fertility of its surrounding lands, the enriched water and the hot volcanic climate proved to be instrumental in forging the rum’s unique and smooth flavor.

Through its 130-year history, the brand, the company and the family have lived through a plane crash, a civil war, nationalizations, hyperinflation, fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Rumbullion! is an incredible, award-winning spiced rum, exactingly blended using carefully selected Caribbean rum, Madagascan vanilla, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. It’s rich, complex and intensely decadent. It’s brilliant in the summer in all manner of cocktails, but it’s equally at home being sipped on a winter’s evening. Tasting Notes:

Nose: Wonderfully sweet Madagascan vanilla with clove and cinnamon spices supported by intense orange peel. Extremely inviting.

Taste: Rich sugars and spices, orange oil, clove, honey and cola cubes. Full of flavour.

Finish: Very long and spiced with creamy vanilla.

Two James is located in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, and is the first licensed distillery in Detroit since Prohibition. Two James is committed to producing only the highest quality environmentally conscious handmade spirits utilizing locally sourced agricultural products with the aim of revitalizing the community and reinforcing the craft product movement.

Because of our belief in the importance of local agriculture and the fact that sugar cane isnt readily available in Michigan, we decided to take our Rum project to the Caribbean, and the Land of Wood and Water. We import several different Jamaican rums and ship them back to our distillery in Detroit where they are artfully blended and aged in special Moscatel barrique. Taconic prides itself on preserving a bourbon whiskey tradition: From George and Martha Washington's home during the American Revolution, to the Great Estates of the Vanderbilt's, Roosevelt's and Rockefeller's, to the hunting preserves and horse farms of today, bourbon whiskey has been savored for generations (Taconic Distillery). To maintain an unadulterated flavor of the whiskey, Taconic never chill filters, and distill their whiskeys below 160 proof to retain the flavors from the grains. It is the flavor of the grains that are transferred through the distilling process as fatty molecules or flavor oils which results in a cloudiness in the whiskey. Those flavors are transferred through the distilling process as fatty molecules (flavor oils). Some distillers will chill filter the fatty molecules and sacrifice a certain amount of flavor for clarity. Taconic uses distinct Coopers Select, Char #3 new oak barrels made by the Independent Stave Company. Their barrels have a unique maturation process; aged in shipping containers. Less is lost to the angel's share, due to the saturation of the air inside the containers. Being exposed to great temperature fluctuations, results in greater movement of spirit in and out of the barrel staves. Aging occurs in cycles, during times of increased temperature such as in the summer, the whiskey expands through the char, through to the untreated wood beneath. While in the wood, the whiskey dissolves various flavorful compounds. When temperatures drop, the liquid contracts and brings out all of the flavors of the wood, producing flavors that complement the body of the whiskey. Taconic Distillery's Rolling Hills Rum is distilled from sugarcane molasses and aged for two years in bourbon barrels. The rum gets its final beauty rest in recently emptied Taconic Distillery's Founder Rye Whiskey barrels, finishing for a few months in them. The sugarcane elixir is then cut to 80 proof with fresh spring water from the Taconic farm.A truly succulent whiskey with rich vanilla and caramel notes.

Pyrat Rum is a brand owned by owned by Patrn Spirits, and was released in 1997. The company is not a distiller, but rather a blender of spirits. Pyrat Rum was previously produced by the Anguilla Rums Company, but is now produced and bottled in Guyana South America, in the Diamond Bottling Plant owned by Demerara Distillers Ltd. (DDL). Pyrat XO Reserve, is a blend of 9 different Rums, sourced from all over the Carribean, primarily consisting of 2-year-old Demerara rum. Demerara rum is produced by DDL, which produces well over 20 million liters of rum a year. Though they have their own label, El Dorado, their rum is also commonly used in blends like Pyrat XO Reserve. The Diamond Bottling Plant -which is owned by DDL- has its own private bottling line within the plant itself. The rum in Pyrat XO Reserve is partly produced in a traditional pot still, and a portion of the blend is produced using Demerara Distillers High Ester Still, which is a John Dore Still. The oldest rum in the Pyrat Rum XO blend is 15-years-old, and all of the XO rum is aged in a combination of American Oak and French Limousine oak casks. Bottled at 40%, ABV Pyrat XO has a stout corked bottle said to resemble the type of bottles used by Caribbean rum runners, ship captains, and pirates in the 19th century. This XO Reserve has a dark amber color. It is sweet on the nose with notes of molasses, toffee, citrus, and spice. The palate is sugary, with signature bright citrus notes of orange liqueur and lemon, and tobacco. The deep flavors of Demerara rum are also present. It has a long finish with hints of ginger and cinnamon.
