Fatman and Friends was born in 2020 out of Mathew Smallbane's love of cooking and mixology, as well as beer, wine, and spirits in general. It all started when Smallbane, hailing from Tasmania, got around to creating his take on the Negroni cocktail while creating the menu for his pop-up restaurant. It was a long journey in search of perfection that involved lots of testing and research in finding the right dry gin that was juniper-forward and had the desired balance of spices. Then there was the sweet vermouth with its citrus notes and the herbal, floral notes of Italian bitters. A blend of aromatics is added before aging. In the end, he ended up with the perfect recipe, his own contemporary take on the classic. Hand-crafted in Kent and aged in barrels, Fatman's Aged Negroni is conveniently bottled on one hand, and uncompromised on the other.
