Hendry Block 15 is located on bench lands west of the town of Napa. Morning fog and afternoon breezes from the San Pablo Bay moderate our southern Napa Valley climate, creating a transitional climate zone between the cooler Carneros region and the warmer northern reaches of the Napa Valley. Both Block 15A and B are planted with CTPS clone 400 of Petit Verdot, on St. George roots. The combined acreage of the blocks is 4.08 acres, totaling 5,122 vines. 15B was planted in 1997, followed by 15A, replanted in 2002 over an old Chardonnay block. 

In 2019 budbreak was April 3rd, bloom was May 29th-31st, veraison took place August 10th-15th, and harvest was October 6th through the 11th, with a yield of 4.65 tons/acre. Bloom to harvest was 130 days. This bottling was aged for approximately 15 months in French oak barrels, approximately 55% of which were new. 

We occasionally bottle these individual varieties and release them on a limited basis. Single-varietal Hendry Petit Verdot has been released in only a handful of vintages.

Opaque purple-ruby. Really interesting initial aromas of soft oak, pepper and the caramelized sugar and deep berry of a blueberry muffin. Full-bodied (though not quite as lush as the 2018) with pleasing, fine-textured tannins. Flavors of dark berries and cola. Cocoa in the finish. This young wine will open up with age, revealing more fruit and texture on the palate. We might pair with grilled or roasted meats, sharp, smoked or aged cheeses like gruyere or gouda, and other full-flavored foods with moderate richness, especially those with intensely savory/umami flavors like olives, mushrooms or truffles.

We scoured the world for the most intriguing grapes and sourced them from some of South Australia's finest regions. The Mediterranean climate and alluvial soils yielded one of our most complexly layered wines while maintaining the approachability and balanced acidity that makes SALDO stand out.

Our 2018 Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of ripe blackberries, red currants, and dried herbs. The wine is full-bodied with baking spice flavors and plush ripe fruit with a long, fine-grained tannin finish.

Paso Robles

When making Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon we target vineyard sites with well-draining soils and good exposure. This helps us create a juicy, full-bodied wine. We age our Cabernet Sauvignon in French and Eastern European Oak for 18 months. 

A beautiful mix of red and blue fruit on the nose unfolds with distinctive layers of violets, spice notes, and the fresh, haunting quality of an evergreen forest. Hints of blueberries join a burst of cherry on the palate, grounded and brightened in equal measure by fine-grained tannins and deliciously juicy acidity.

The 2015 Evoluna Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is rich and lush, yet bright and approachable. Fuji apple, DAnjou pear, Narcissus and Lychee greet you on the nose. This delectable wine has a plush, rich mouthfeel - bold on the front, balanced mid-palate, and a long, lingering finish.

The nose is very expressive with notes of wild strawberry, cherry and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is beautifully supple. Tannins are silky and the tasty finish reveals notes of black pepper, red fruits and a hint of eucalyptus.

Winemaker Notes
Our winemakers wanted to craft a wine that possessed everything they loved about Merlot, only more: more rich fruit flavors, more cocoa accents, a more voluptuous mouthfeel. They selected grapes from premier vineyards in California’s Central Coast and North Coast appellations, known for producing grapes with exceptionally rich flavors and aromas. Finally, they fermented the wine on French and American oak to round out the flavors and mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes
Lavish is a luxurious, over the top expression of Merlot, offering a truly sensual experience. From its deep ruby red color and its alluring blueberry cordial fragrance, Lavish promises to be much more than a typical Merlot. On the palate, seamlessly integrated flavors of rich, ripe blueberries and juicy black plums flirt recklessly with dark cocoa and sensual vanilla notes before being swept up in a smooth, chocolaty finish. It’s full-bodied with a soft, round mouthfeel—a uniquely rich, extraordinarily lavish Merlot.

Caymus has a signature style that is dark in color, with rich fruit and ripe tannins, as approachable in youth as in maturity. Since its founding in 1972, Caymus has become renowned as a consistent leader in the production of Napa Valley Cabernet. Grapes for this wine are farmed in a range of Napa’s sub-appellations – from Coombsville to Calistoga – with fruit from the valley floor creating lushness and the hillsides providing backbone. Diversification enables us to make the best possible wine in a given year, featuring layered, lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe berries.

Malagouzia is the new label of Vourvoukeli Estate, regarding the white monovarietal wines. The wine displays the basic characteristics of the variety, which are an intensely aromatic bouquet of moderate to high acidity. The body of the wine is full and robust. The color appears white-yellow, with golden highlights. Aromas of white flowers, apricot and tropical fruits. Its finish is quite strong and last.
