Yellow in color with green and golden reflections, this very bright wine presents an elegant train of bubbles. The nose opens on white blossom then citrus, before developing pleasant buttery and brioche notes. Full and rounded in the mouth, with a certain vivacity, and secondary aromas of great complexity, that evolve over time.

A highly anticipated release from the Massican Winery in Napa Valley, California. This wine is made from a blend of two Italian grape varietals - Ribolla Gialla and Tocai Friulano - both of which are known for producing crisp, aromatic white wines.

The grapes for Massican Gemina are carefully selected from vineyards throughout Napa Valley and are harvested at their peak ripeness to ensure optimal flavor and aroma development. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its bright, fresh character.

Malbec is a full-bodied wine made from Argentina's most famous red grape. Showing dark purple in the glass, this wine radiates aromas of blackberry and semi-sweet chocolate. The palate brims with layers of blackcurrant and red raspberry underscored with hints of white pepper. The mouthfeel is silky, leading to a long finish with touches of pomegranate and vanilla bean.

OUR STORY

Belle Glos showcases distinctive Pinot Noirs produced from California’s most noteworthy coastal wine-growing regions.

While each vineyard location lies near the Pacific Ocean, the climate differences are significant, varying with the amount of fog, wind, sunlight, and soil type at each site. Each Vineyard Designate is crafted to distill the purest essence of the locale into elegant expressions of California Pinot Noir.

Owner/winemaker, Joe Wagner chose the name Belle Glos (pronounced “BELL GLOSS”) to honor his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner. Lorna was a co-founder of Caymus Vineyards, an inspirational figure to Joseph and an avid lover of Pinot Noir.

RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY

Once a dairy farm and pastureland, this vineyard has realized its greatest potential as a prime, virgin Pinot Noir vineyard. It was first planted in 2000 to a mix of Dijon clones 115, 667, and 777, all grafted on low-vigor rootstock 101-14.

We harvested early in the morning so the fruit would arrive at the winery while the grapes were still cool to preserve the vineyard-fresh flavors. After destemming (but not crushing) the berries, we cold-soaked the fruit for up to two weeks to soften the skins and allow for ideal extraction. During fermentation in a combination of closed and open-top stainless steel fermenters, we used both punch-downs and pump-overs to extract color and tannins, and also to control temperatures and maximize flavors. We aged the wine in 100% French oak (60% new) for up to nine months. After the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, we racked it twice before making the final blend.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet in color with abundant aromas of sun-warmed black cherry, raspberry compote, and dark chocolate followed by hints of cedar and black currant. Bold and rich tones layered with flavors of fresh strawberry cobbler and bramble accompanied by notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. This wine has rich tannins, nice concentration, depth, and natural acidity that expresses the authenticity of a Sonoma County Pinot Noir.

This Classic Collection Shiraz, sourced from our family vineyard, is an elegant example of McLaren Vale’s flagship varietal. Deep purple, with red hues. Lifted aromas of dark berry and plum fruit, with underlying earthy notes and savoury toasted spice characters, chocolate and liquorice. Dark berry fruit and spice intermingle on the palate, with hints of smoky oak. A rich, well rounded wine with good depth of flavour and fine, structural tannins.

This White Label Shiraz from our family vineyard is an elegant example of McLaren Vale’s flagship varietal. Deep purple, with red hues. Lifted aromas of dark berry and plum fruit, and more earthy, savoury toasted spice characters along with hints of chocolate and liquorice. Dark berry fruit and spice intermingle on the palate, with hints of smoky oak. A rich, well rounded wine with good depth of flavour and a fine and soft lingering tannin structure.

Delicious, plump and black fruit forward, the Legend Proprietary blend marries the best blocks of Syrah from our Annadel Gap Vineyard with Cabernet Sauvignon from an organic vineyard in the Knights Valley. Mouth-filling in texture, the wine has heft and weight while being fantastically balanced in the finish.

Embodying the alluring beauty of great Napa Valley Merlot, this wine reveals vibrant aromas of red currant, ripe plum, black raspberry, cherry and sweet baking spices, with hints of tea leaves and cocoa. The palate is rich and luxurious, with silky tannins and flavors of ripe red berries, pie crust and fig compote gliding to a bright, elegant finish.

Production

In terms of overall weather, most of the 2020 growing season was excellent. Following a relatively dry winter, budbreak started early, and the temperatures throughout spring and summer were mild and temperate. This allowed the grapes to ripen slowly, developing pure, vibrant flavors and supple, fleshy textures. In late September, harvest was impacted by the outbreak of wildfires and the arrival of hot weather. The elevated temperatures gave many vineyards a final push to ripeness as we worked to bring in the grapes. During this period, we did extensive testing to ensure quality, excluding any fruit that did not meet our standards. While our meticulous selection process resulted in a smaller 2020 crop, the wines we produced live up to the Duckhorn name, displaying beautiful aromas, soft elegant textures, lively complexity and lush flavors.

Kenwood Vineyards creates its award-winning Sonoma County Merlot from vineyards located in Sonoma County's best grape growing appellations. The Estate Vineyard located in the heart of the Sonoma Valley provides good color and excellent texture. The remainder of the blend is balanced with the rich fruit and spicy flavors from grapes sourced in the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys.

Our Castle Rock Pinot Noir is produced from grapes grown in a carefully selected group of California vineyards, where the climate and soil quality provide excellent growing conditions for this delicate varietal. Our Pinot Noir is elegant and medium-bodied, offering complex aromas of strawberry, dried herbs, and allspice.
