A ship carrying spiced rum from the Caribbean was attacked by a monstrous Kraken. The Beast thrust upon the ship its massive limbs, plunging the vessel and the men on board into impenetrable darkness.

THE LONE SURVIVOR

All of the barrels of rum were destroyed except one, which was badly stained by the squid’s black ink. It was dubbed “The Kraken Rum.” It is now known as a liquid of unparalleled darkness.

The mature, deep, spicy one: a deeper Sherry influence adds more spiciness and a liquorice tang. Greater age adds body and develops the distinctive fruitiness to a rich raisin character.

It is distinguished by the encounter of eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and the Borderies, the smallest and most exclusive terroir in the Cognac region, which create a blend of elegance, richness and power.

The jewel bottle, whose shape evokes a drop in which the cognac is enclosed and protected is made of precious crystal.

Product Discovery

The Color: Intense amber with shimmering mahogany highlights.

The Aroma: Citrus notes like bergamot and orange peel, the full-fruit harmony of dark berries and blackcurrants, the gingerbread notes of clove and cinnamon embraced by vanilla, and the scent of oriental forests with its woody notes of myrrh, undergrowth and rancio.

The Taste: A silky-smooth and subtle attack is followed by richer, more substantial flavours. Harmonious notes of blackcurrant and woodland undergrowth encounter tones of gingerbread and orange peel. Long-aged Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie bring strength and structure, prolonged into an exquisite, lingering finish.

Blason Rosé is the first Rosé champagne created by Perrier-Jouët. Its name derives from the ‘Blason de France’ range, created by the House in 1956. Blason Rosé is a subtle blend of 50 different vins clairs from the best parcels of the House’s vineyards. Built on the model of the Grand Brut Non-Vintage, which is driven by the intensity of the Chardonnays in the blend, Blason Rosé is enriched by the addition of red wines.  The elegance and finesse of the Chardonnays (25%), blend with the structure of the Pinot Noirs (50% including the added red wines) and the fruitiness of Pinot Meunier (25%) – a grape with which Perrier-Jouët has acquired specific expertise. The cuvée ages for a minimum of three years in the cellars before a light dosage of 8 to 11 grams per litre is added depending on the year. An addition of 12 to 15% of reserve wines creates the consistency required to balance the Perrier-Jouët style with the climatic effects of the year. 

The prestige cuvée Belle Epoque is a generous vintage unveiling magnolia and honeysuckle flavours enveloped in pear and peach notes, enhanced by a hint of mineral sparkle.

Hervé Deschamps' Belle Epoque Brut brings out the freshness and elegance of the Chardonnays (50%) from the grands crus of Cramant and Avize. From the Montagne de Reims, the Pinots Noirs (45%) display a generosity and delicate complexity that prolong the Chardonnays’ finesse. Finally, the rounded charm of the Pinots Meuniers (5%) from Dizy provides the finishing touch to this beautifully balanced cuvée.

The prestige cuvée Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs is the most accomplished expression of the Perrier-Jouët style, result of a year of contrasts. A single harvest, a single grape variety, a single terroir: the assemblage of this cuvée is a work of great precision. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced exclusively from two legendary vineyard parcels: Bouron Leroi and Bouron du midi, situated in the heart of the Côte des Blancs in the terroir of Cramant. Situated half way up the South-East facing slope in this exceptional Grand Cru, these two vineyard parcels benefit from exposure to the first rays of the early morning sun, encouraging a slow and even ripening of the grapes. Cellar ageing for eight years and a light dosage of 8g/l help to create an enticing and seductive wine with a wonderful balance between generosity and elegance. Vintages vary by location. Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance.

Named World Whisky of the Year in 2008.

Non chill-filtered with a strength of 46% ABV. 

Colour: Light gold.

Aroma: A burst of intense smoky fruit escapes into the atmosphere – peat infused with zesty lemon and lime, wrapped in waxy dark chocolate.
Bold menthol and black pepper slice through the sweet smoke followed by tarry ropes and graphite. As you dip your nose in further, savour the aroma of smoked fish and crispy bacon alongside green bell peppers, baked pineapple and pear juice.
Add water and breathe in the vortex of aromas rising from the glass. An oceanic minerality brings a breath of cool, briny seaspray on chalky cliffs. Waxed lemon and lime follows with coal tar soap, beeswax and herby pine woodlands. Toasted vanilla and sizzling cinnamon simmer in the background with warm hazelnut and almond toffee.

Taste: An explosion of crackling peat sets off millions of flavour explosions on the tongue: peat effervesces with tangy lemon and lime juice, black pepper pops with sizzling cinnamon-spiced toffee. This is followed by a wave of brine infused with smooth buttermilk, ripe bananas and currants. Smoke gradually wells up on the palate bringing a mouthful of warm creamy cappuccino and toasted marshmallows. As the taste lengthens and deepens, dry espresso, liquorice root and tarry smoke develop coating the palate with chewy peat oils.

Finish: The finish goes on and on – long and smoky with tarry espresso, aniseed, toasted almonds and traces of soft barley and fresh pear.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay, where only the bravest souls dare to venture. Swirling aromas and torrents of deep, peaty, peppery taste lurk beneath the surface of this beautifully balanced dram. Like the whirlpool itself, Corryvreckan is not for the faint-hearted! Awarded The World’s Best Single Malt in 2010 by the World Whiskies Awards.

Color: Rich Amber. 

Aroma: Heady, intense and powerful. Swirl the glass and dip your nose into the torrents of tarry ropes, creosote and linseed oil rising from deep within the vortex. A collision of waxy dark chocolate, warm blackcurrants and muscovado sugar pulls you under its spell with a burst of plump cherries and earthy pine needles leaping from its depths. From salty seasoning comes a briny character with tangy crisp seaweed and smoky bacon swirling on the surface with hints of sweet vanilla, spicy cloves and blueberries. Surrender to its dangerous depths with the heady force of menthol, treacle and chilli sauce.

Taste: Plunge into the whirlpool and torrents of taste well up on the palate; deep, peppery and chewy, bombarding the tongue. The first plunge brings forth chewy peppered steak soaked in pepper sauce with the tang of crispy seaweed. As you descend deeper, encounter a mouthful of black tarry espresso coffee that coats the palate with rich melted dark fruits (blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries) and bitter almonds. As the taste soaks in deeper, star anise and hickory dry out the palate before a surprise of chalky effervescent violets fizz to the surface.

Finish: Long, deep and remaining powerful into the finish with black tarry coffee, chocolate coated cherries and hot pepper sauce, the lingering memories of your mysterious and daring journey into Corryvreckan.

Pronounced ‘Oog-a-dal’, it’s a special vatting that marries Ardbeg’s traditional deep, smoky notes with luscious, raisiny tones of old ex-Sherry casks. Ardbeg Uigeadail was voted by the 120,000+ strong Ardbeg Committee as their favourite Ardbeg.

Aroma: Rich and weighty with heady and smoky aromatics, this expression of Ardbeg is both intensely flavoured and perfectly integrated. At full strength, the initial aroma is a beguiling mix of warm Christmas cake, walnut oil and parma violets fused with fresh ocean spice, cedar and pine needles falling from the Christmas tree. A smouldering smoky coal fire and the deep scent of well-oiled leather brings warmth to the scene. The sweetness of treacle toffees and chocolate-coated raisins bring indulgence through the smoke. With water, the deep smokiness increases in intensity, reminiscent of a Christmas pudding on fire. Tarry smoke and diesel engine oil enter the room bringing smells of an age gone by. Rich flowering currants and warm baked banana and walnut bread are served with simmering mocha espresso.

Taste: Full-flavoured and rich with a deep mouth-coating texture, the taste is an intriguing balance between sweet, spicy and deep smoky flavours. The flavour is initially sweet as Christmas cake begins to soak into the tongue. A burst of winter spices sets off a smoky-spicy explosion countered by a sumptuous mid-palate of honey glazed smoked food and chewy treacle. Waves of deep smoky tones and rich aromas build up on the palate like a fine Montecristo cigar.

Finish: Amazingly long and chewy with lingering raisiny, deep mocha tones and rich aromatic smoke into the perfectly integrated finish.

The Balvenie's 15 year old Single Barrel Sherry Cask has been matured exclusively in a single European oak sherry butt for at least 15 years. The 15-year maturation in a cask that has previously held Oloroso sherry creates a single malt characterized by dried fruit richness, nuttiness and spice. No more than 650 hand-numbered bottles are drawn from each sherry butt and each bottle carries the number of the cask in which it was matured.
