TASTING NOTES

NOSE : Clean, rich, rounded, fresh bread and notes of white chocolate and light cereal and with a deep mellow spice.

PALATE : Full bodied, luscious silky mouthfeel with waves of rich macadamia nuts, creamed cereal and garnishes of white chocolate and buttery notes of freshly baked bread. Light fresh nuttiness with a well-balanced hint of mellow spice and pure balanced richness.

An exceptionally rich and soft whiskey was needed to celebrate the occasion. The recipe is the original one that was supplied to the British Royal Family over 100 years ago, it is a Victorian mix that does not need any aging marks. Noble Oak makes unique and award-winning whiskey with a worthy purpose. The folks at Noble Oak are wood fanatics and rightly so. That's because 70% of a whiskey's flavor comes from the wood in which it is matured. They mention: "Our commitment to oak transcends our whiskey, because every bottle plants a tree in partnership with One Tree Planted in an effort to preserve the world's most majestic forests." Trinity Reserve is a straight bourbon that brings together 3 continents via oak from Japan, Europe, and America. The whiskey is first aged for at least 4 years in new charred American oak, before being finished with meticulously hand-picked oak staves. Ex-bourbon staves bring vanilla and citrus notes, ex-sherry Scotch staves bring dried fruit and spice notes, while new Japanese oak staves bring the profile together, balancing the complexity and adding depth. Released exclusively online, and Flaviar members have a chance to grab this expression first. Fewer than 2,800 bottles were produced. Paul Pacult of The Spirit Journal has awarded this beautiful expression with 5 stars, noting its "top to bottom, consistent brilliance and on-message character from first whiff through to the finish. No surprises, no changes in direction, just solid, high quality excellence."

Las Cabras Distillery dates as far back as 1919, when it was just a mere sugar mill. In the 90s the abandoned mill was discovered by Francisco Jose Fernandez Perez, aka "Don Pancho," and Carlos Esquivel. Beneath the overgrown grass, they uncovered a copper column still with a small medallion inscribed with Cincinnati 1922, and the modern day Las Cabras rum production plant was born. The distillery now boasts a five column, continuous distillation installation that distills rum from molasses, fermented using a bespoke strain of pineapple yeast. The facility also produces Caa Brava Rum. This Zafra 21 is distilled by Cuban master blender Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez, in the Cuban style of rum production. Made from molasses and aged in used Bourbon barrels for twenty-one years.

Catrina History

La Catrina was a zinc etching originally created in 1910 by Mexican printmaker Jose Guadalupe Posada. He was known for his images of political and social satire. She became a symbolic figure during the time of the Mexican Revolution. 

​La Catrina is often associated with Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a pre-Colombian Meso-American observace of death and life that is celebrated on November 2nd in all of Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula and parts of Central America.

​La Catrina in her elegance broad-brimmed hat first appeared in a satirical engraving that mocked those who pretended to be of a higher class, even if that meant starving, and going painfully thin, or without flesh. 

​To this day, La Catrina continues to be a symbolic figure. She has become part of the imagery for Dia de los muertos but also she can be found in books, cartoons, posters, figurines and artwork spanning over 100 years.

This artwork was created around 1910-1913 by José Guadalupe Posada in an etching called “La Calavera Catrina,” originally known as “La Calavera Garbancera.” She was created as a satirical image. Now we adapt Mexico's great folflore into a one of a kind Tequila Package, Dona Celia Tequila. Made out of ceramic and hand painted designs, this doll not only has a beautiful design but has a high quality 100% Agave Tequila to compliment inside.

Rumbullion! is an incredible, award-winning spiced rum, exactingly blended using carefully selected Caribbean rum, Madagascan vanilla, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. It’s rich, complex and intensely decadent. It’s brilliant in the summer in all manner of cocktails, but it’s equally at home being sipped on a winter’s evening. Tasting Notes:

Nose: Wonderfully sweet Madagascan vanilla with clove and cinnamon spices supported by intense orange peel. Extremely inviting.

Taste: Rich sugars and spices, orange oil, clove, honey and cola cubes. Full of flavour.

Finish: Very long and spiced with creamy vanilla.

Legacy Series: Chapter 3

Inspired by Sir Arthur John Tedder – The Exciseman stationed at Glengoyne defining the rules of Scotch whisky, inspired by our distillery. March 2nd 1908 – He was first witness at the Royal Commission on Whiskey* and other potable spirits. A royal commission to determine the very concept of what whisky was. On one side was the purists who only thought Pot Still whisky was whisky and on the other side Blenders who thought grain and malt whisky combined was whisky. The Scots and the blenders won the day after 37 sittings; This was seen as the sensible outcome. Blends could still be called Whisky and called Scotch if distilled in Scotland.

We will use this exceptional whisky to celebrate Tedder’s influence in defining what should make a great Scotch during his time stationed at Glengoyne – defining the rules to which we still distil to this day. Tedder would be proud of this exceptional whisky – bottled using some of the very finest American oak sherry casks in our Glengoyne warehouses – and we thank him as the attention to detail and his exacting standards not only creates rules the whole industry follows today, but it inspired the people of Glengoyne to constantly pursue perfection, and helping to create the Unhurried Glengoyne Way.

TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE: Deep Gold

NOSE: On the nose, signature Glengoyne deep sherry notes which accompany our distinctive cinnamon sticks and vanilla aromas.  A very pleasing combination of mixed berry jam and apple strudel intertwine revealing some pear. 

PALATE: On the palate, a rich luxurious body that’s satisfyingly chewy with warm boozy raisins combining with spiced buns slowly giving way to tarte tatin and smooth cream sherry. 

FINISH: The finish is light and fruity, which deepens with hints of pineapple, dried fruits, dark chocolate and lingering spice finish are the aromatic ‘legacy’ of this wonderful dram before you reach for the bottle and go back for more.

The Macallan No.6 has been created exclusively from first fill European Oak sherry-seasoned casks, that were made in a single cooperage - Tevasa - in the Jerez region of Southern Spain. The resulting whisky is of classic The Macallan character, with a rich dark walnut color and sumptuous combination of richness, spice and dried fruits. It is encased in a statuesque Lalique decanter made from the finest crystal.
