El Silencio Joven Mezcal
The wonderful Mezcal El Silencio "Joven" comes from the village of San Baltazar Guelavila. This special blend of three agave types - Espadin, Tobaisiche & Mexicano - is double distilled in copper pots making it a beautiful sipping Mezcal. Robb Report agrees, "Smooth without giving up the rustic character of the drink, with the flavors of fennel, white pepper, and fine saddle leather lurking behind a merely lip-numbing burn." - Michalene Busico ("Lightning in a Bottle," June 2014). The blend of the various agave types provides for balance that is unseen in many of the single varietal expressions and depth of character that is not rivaled at any price point.
