COLOUR: Antique gold.

NOSE: Vibrant and lively with an abundance of toasty oak sweetness. Reminiscent of a French pâtisserie, freshly-baked Tarte Tatin and buttery choux pastry.

TASTE: Deep, velvety smooth and indulgently sweet. Café crème with soft brown sugar and a hint of spice.

FINISH: Very long-lasting sweet oak.

This beautifully complex 30 years old single malt is a tale of two worlds. With respect for the past and a passion for the future, our 30 years old single malt brings together the old and the new. In 2019, when the distillery met its new owners, some of our precious 30 years old spirit was taken and filled into new, specially selected European Oak sherry casks where it continued its maturation for a further year. It was then carefully blended with spirit that had slumbered for all three decades in the original wood. New ownership, new Whisky Maker, new wood, 30 years old casks and aged spirit all combine to create this luxuriant single malt.

Smell the richness of Aruba espresso and sherry before a contrast of sizzling spices and bitter mocha hit the tongue. As the flavors settle, feel the senses relinquish to a spring-like finish of mint and bright citrus.

Every Scotch whisky distillery is different. From its location and water source, to its still shape and wood policy. These are all determining factors in how a whisky tastes. The Balblair collection is intriguingly complex and satisfying. We capture the intense esters at the start of the spirit cut to give our Whisky the core characteristics of apricots, oranges, spices, floral notes and green apples. The heavier oils and lipids at the end of the cut are also captured, giving leathery, nutty and full-bodied characteristics.

BLABLAIR 18 late-night expression is rich and autumnal, developed and amplified to unexpected heights, while staying perfectly balanced and closely tied to the bright and fruity character of the Distillery.

Tasting Notes

Blair Athol is one of Diageo's workhorse distilleries. Much of its malt whisky ends up in Bell's blended scotch. It's a beautiful distillery built in 1798 in Pitlochry. It has a nutty character resulting from cloudy worts and short fermentation. Allowing controlled levels of solids coming across in the wash still adds a deep, rich meat loaf character.

The majority of Blair Athol casks destined for blending are ex-bourbon barrels. So, this release from Chapter 7 is a rare exception: a wine cask aged Blair Athol. The cask is likely a 2nd or 3rd fill, resulting in a complex dram rather than a dominant one.

With a history steeped in expertise, Orphan Barrel has meticulously selected and matured this whisky for 14 years, allowing its flavors to mature and evolve. The name "Castle's Curse" alludes to the mysterious and enchanting journey the whisky has undertaken, evoking the imagery of hidden castles and ancient tales.

From a Distillery with more ups and downs that a pogoing punk comes Ardcore. Created with roasted black malt, roasted to the extreme, this spirit is all about what happens up front – centre stage. The malt is what defines its distinctive profile. Described as tasting like ‘biting on a spiky ball’, Ardcore is a dram that wears its heart on its sleeve… its black heart!

Notes of charcoal and sweet smoke make for an in-your-face nose, while potent notes of aniseed and dark chocolate stamp this bottle out as one fit only for the most Ardcore of fans.

Glenfiddich Special Edition Sherry Cask Finish single malt Scotch whisky matured for 12 years in American and European Oak Sherry casks before finishing in Amontillado casks adding lively notes of dried fruits and a delicately spicy finish. The Amontillado Sherry Casks are from the Spanish Sherry region of Jerez and are the rarest of Sherry Casks. Every year, Amontillado casks make up less than 5% of all our imported sherry casks, illustrating their rarity and desirability. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, with a splash of water, or with club soda to expand the flavor. Skillfully crafted. Enjoy responsibly.

Situated over 1,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Monadhliath Mountains, Tomatin Distillery is one of the highest distilleries in Scotland. Its origins date back to the 15th century when drovers, bringing their cattle over the high mountain passes to the Tomatin market, filled their flasks from a still hidden at the Old Laird's House, which is situated adjacent to the distillery. Since that time, centuries of isolation and generations of family tradition (some workers at the distillery are the fifth generation of their family to work there) have created a distillery rooted in Scottish heritage and tradition. Tomatin C Bcan Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky pays homage to a spectral hound (named C Bcan) who has haunted the distillery for centuries. The hound was once spotted by a distillery employee, who felt compelled "beyond all natural reason" to touch the hound's fur. As he reached out his hand, the hound dissolved "before his eyes leaving nothing but a vacuum of deathly silence and an inky blue cloud of smoke, soon spirited away across the peat moorland." For one week each year, Tomatin Distillery produces a spectral peated single malt scotch whisky, in contrast to their typical unpeated expressions. The whisky is crafted from malted barley, which is smoked over a peat flame to approximately 15 phenol parts per million. After the barley has been peated, it is fermented and then twice distilled through Tomatin's copper pot stills. The stills have a round, flat shape that gives the whisky a rounder and sweeter flavor profile, notes Douglas Campbell, Tomatin's master distiller. After distillation, the whisky is matured in three different types of casks: virgin oak casks, casks that were previously used to mature bourbon and casks that were previously used to mature sherry. As a result, the whisky has an aroma of tropical fruits, vanilla, parsley and green herbs. The aroma gives way to hints of honeyed smoke, lime, toasted almonds and cloves on the palate, and leads to a finish touched with charcoal, oak and sweet smoke. The whisky earned the Silver Medal at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival in 2013 and at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2014. Don't worry about the bottle disappearing after you touch it, though.

THE BLEND

Created in 2018 by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, Chivas XV is a celebratory way to enjoy blended Scotch whisky. This blend is laid down to rest for a minimum of 15 long years – represented by the Roman numerals XV – so that rich flavours are ready for you to enjoy in an instant.
Pairing this long maturation with a selective finish* in cognac casks results in a truly luxurious and velvety finish. With notes of rich sultanas and touches of warm cinnamon, this is a blend worth toasting to.

TASTING NOTES

CASK FINISH: A portion of this blended Scotch whisky is finished in cognac casks for a refined, fruity and velvety taste.

NOSE: Rich and sweet with concentrated notes of stewed red apples, homemade orange marmalade, honey, cinnamon and juicy sultanas.

PALATE: Incredibly smooth and fruity. Flavours of poached pears intermingled with butterscotch and caramel toffees, all rolled up in a wonderful velvety texture.

FINISH: Rounded with a touch of vanilla on the finish.

The Guard Bridge is the New Blended Malt Whisky from Eden Mill - a unique blend of aged single malts including our own Eden Mill St Andrews single malt, expertly selected and married by our Head Distiller, Scott Ferguson.

The name is inspired by the original 15th century six-arched Guard Bridge that connected St Andrews with its old trading port of Guardbridge. Symbolically, a bridge is a connection between one thing and another - by bringing different single malts together, we have created a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky that seamlessly combines the sweet, grassy and floral profile of the Lowlands with the robust, spicy and fruity flavors found in Highland whiskies.
